Northrop Grumman and our employees are working together and supporting each other, and the nation, in the fight against COVID-19. Our priority is to keep our employees healthy and safe, at work and at home, and we are providing expanded resources to support them with the increased challenges we all face.
During this time of crisis, our employees are continuing our mission-critical work for our customers, in support of national security and human discovery. We take great pride in our mission to define possible, and we are committed to doing what we do best: solving tough problems.
Caring for Employees
The health, safety and well-being of Northrop Grumman employees and their families is our top priority.
To safeguard employee health, we’re requiring telecommuting for those able to do so, providing the resources and guidance on how to navigate working from home while staying connected to the larger company culture and community.
For those whose work requires them to come in person, creating a safe workspace is paramount. Social distancing, staggered shifts, adjusted work areas and face coverings are just some of the ways that Northrop Grumman is protecting employees.
And these unique times call for more. Added paid-time-off options for those in high-risk categories, telemedicine, telephone counseling and expanded backup childcare are available to all Northrop Grumman employees, to support their financial, physical and mental well-being.
Growing our Team
Northrop Grumman continues to hire. With more than 10,000 open jobs in the United States, talent scouts are conducting virtual interviews with applicants and regularly hosting virtual job fairs. We are also committed to our intern program and will welcome more than 3,000 students this summer.
Supporting our Suppliers
Northrop Grumman’s work depends on a vast ecosystem of suppliers from across the U.S. and internationally. To ensure our critical industrial supply chain survives and stays healthy beyond this crisis, we are continuing to place orders and accelerating payments. The economic fallout from the coronavirus has been particularly devastating to many small and mid-sized businesses, which is why Northrop Grumman is immediately advancing approximately $30 million per week of payments to these critical suppliers.
Serving Communities
We are supporting our local communities, where we live and work, through contributions and in-kind donations. We are giving to organizations involved in COVID-19 relief efforts now, including funding to support frontline healthcare workers, first responders and service members; for food banks; and helping to get students access to technology for virtual learning. We’re also focused on in-kind donations, including using 3-D printers from across the company to produce thousands of face shields a week for hospitals.
